General

With RSS Ground you can automate creation, sharing and collection of content using various tools inbuilt into the service. But this was just like looking through the keyhole at the content automation possibilities. RSS Ground is now integrated with major automation platforms such as IFTTT, Zapier and Pabbly Connect. This opens up virtually unlimited prospects for content marketing, be it content sharing or content collecting.

IFTTT, Zapier, and Pabbly Connect are distinct platforms designed to facilitate automation across various web services and applications, effectively amplifying your productivity and digital marketing efforts. If you don’t see a needed service among RSS Ground tools, it will definitely be at one of the automation platforms. And you can still control content flows from/to this platforms through your RSS Ground account.

If you are using any other automation platform, please read about Webhooks and how they can be used to integrate with RSS Ground.

Triggers and actions

To better understand how this integration works, you need to understand what is a Trigger and what is an Action from the perspective of automation platforms. Triggers and Actions are fundamental components. They help in setting up a cause-and-effect relationship between your online activities and the tasks you want to automate: when something happens (trigger) it causes reaction (action).

When you create a task on the automation platform, you set up a joint of a trigger and an action. On IFTTT such a joint is called Applet, on Zapier - Zap, on Pabbly - Workflow.

To share content from RSS Ground to automation platforms, RSS Ground should be set as a Trigger in this joint. And if you wish to receive targeted content from automation platforms, RSS Ground should be set as an Action.

There are two scenarios to use RSS Ground as a Trigger:

(a) To use one of your posting campaigns as a content source. You need to create at least one Integration posting campaign, or initiate integration in one of the running posting campaigns. When you set up a trigger on the automation platform, choose New Item in Posting Campaign. As soon as your posting campaign makes a post, it will also be shared to the automation platform.

(b) To use one of your personal feeds as a content source. You need to create at least one personal feed. When you set up a trigger on the automation platform, choose New Item in Personal Feed. As soon as you add a new item to your personal feed, it will also be shared to the automation platform.

To use RSS Ground as an action, you need to create at least one personal feed. And when you will be setting up RSS Ground as an action on an automation platform, you will see a list of all your personal feeds.
